The course consists of a number of theory-based classroom sessions of two hours each starting mid January, followed by practical training in the association apiary as the bee season progresses.

There are three course tutors who function seamlessly as a team. The course leader is David Purchase who has been a seasonal bee inspector. He is ably assisted by Gordon Scott and Chris Mounty who are  both very experienced beekeepers. Other bee association members come along to chat to the students during the coffee break, so everyone has the opportunity to meet practising beekeepers.

The course is being held at Brighton Hill Community School on Wednesday evenings.
